YW QUARTERLY BRIEF
A Note from the CEO

Recent events have proven something we already knew: we are stronger together.

As anti-Black violence and civil and human rights violations have torn through our country, we have doubled down on our work to dismantle systemic racism just as we have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with speed and action.

Through the ongoing hardship and uncertainty, you have been right there with us so we could be a lifeline to the people we serve.

We have been providing sexual violence survivors with uninterrupted 24/7 hotline support and counseling services plus creative, therapeutic, and practical workshops on a safe virtual platform.

We launched our live YWTV channel to deliver virtual programming in tune with community needs, including essential resources for Black women and families and anti-racist education for white allies.

Our YWTV programs also focus on skills for women employees and business owners; practical and emotional support for parents and children; wellness activities for all ages; and issue education for voters.

With our revenue-generating programs on indefinite hold and so much work to do, we urgently need your help.  Thank you for your donation to continue this
Please read our statement on recent anti-Black violence, civil and human rights violations, and actions we must take to eradicate systemic racism.
UPCOMING RACIAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS
We will host a series of live YWTV programs and events throughout the summer and beyond that include:

Mothering Black Sons - Friday June 12 at 12 pm ( Live on YWCANNJ Facebook)
Motherhood is universal, but raising a Black son is different than raising a white son. Join us as we talk openly and candidly with mothers bringing up their Black sons in a racially divided world. Share their fears, dreams and realities with the hope of raising awareness and understanding around this emotional and evolving topic.

Solidarity Circle through Art
Art allows people to express themselves and their experiences in a very personal way. In commemoration of the 2020 Stand Against Racism students and civic leaders from our community share poetry, photography, short prose and artwork around understanding the struggles and challenges many people face daily.

White Allyship
How can white people become supporters and allies for people of color? Meet community leaders committed to undoing racism education and facilitating difficult conversations around racism that impacts our communities.

Raising Race-Conscious Children Part 2
Experts share insights on how parents can set the tone on who are children become by our daily words and expressions. Learn how to dismantle the colorblind framework and teach children to embrace and accept diversity.

Advancing Black Entrepreneurship
Working to build stronger and fairer economies starts with creating more business ownership opportunities for people of color and closing the wealth gap. Learn from Black business owners and community leaders what we can all do to support the growth and success of Black entrepreneurship.

YW Town Hall: Systemic Racism
Community leaders and activists share insights on systemic racism. This open forum will encourage an honest dialogue around racism and white privilege, and share ways for each of us to break the cycle to eliminate racism.
