We wrap up the Virtual Experience next week and want to give a huge thank you to all our presenters (over 80), our attendees (over 300), our sponsors and our team!

Virtual Open-House/Orientation:
"Over one hundred students gathered through Zoom to explore the programs, resources, career pathways, and coursework opportunities within the Child and Family Studies Department at Los Angeles Mission College.

A General Session provided an overview of the department and its offerings, followed by break-out sessions led by faculty for students to obtain more specialized information about their interests and needs. The break-out sessions included: Child Development, Education, Family Studies & Gerontology, Education, Psychology, Child Development Student Resource Center (tutoring center), and the Child Development Club.
Finally, everyone gathered once again in the General Session for Q and A, as well as a strong message of support and encouragement from the faculty to all students. The Child and Family Studies faculty and tutors provided two hours of welcome, information, encouragement, and support – all of which was met by student appreciation and enthusiasm!  We look forward to our next virtual event as our department community continues to grow and strengthen!"
