On November 23, 2019 Abby's Closet will host our annual Holiday Tea and Fundraiser. This special event features tea, delicious food, silent auction and raffle, but more importantly, the opportunity to raise funds for our annual Abby's Closet Prom Dress Giveaway.
Many don't realize the cost associated with hosting the Giveaway.
Abby's Closet is able to transform a bare, 60,000 square foot space into an intimate, personal boutique for the young women who walk through the door. Tea funds raised will be used to cover the costs associated with hosting this major event, including venue, moving expenses and our annual college scholarship.
Funds raised will also benefit our supplemental dress account. Statistics from previous years show that 25% of our attendees wear size 15 and above. However, we do not receive enough donations in this size range; it only represents about 10% of our inventory. In an effort to supply a quality selection of dresses for all sizes, funds are needed to purchase supplemental dresses at discounted prices.
