These exercises can help you to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the way your brain works. This course focuses on the age-old concepts of disciplined memory and memory retention techniques. Barbara Klau holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has worked with adults of all ages for more than 20 years. She developed an interest in memory retention techniques and has developed courses and workshops which she teaches in numerous venues in Connecticut and Florida, particularly to help those with normal age-associated memory issues.

JERUSALEM AND THE DISPUTED TERRITORIES:

Definitive Sovereignty in International Law

Speaker: Dr. JACQUES P. GAUTHIER

Sunday, FEBRUARY 18, 11:00 am ET

FREE IN-PERSON; advance registration required

Florida Atlantic University (FAU Boca)

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Friedberg Auditorium

777 Glades Road, Boca Raton 33431

The answers to the question of Israel’s entitlements in respect to the City of Jerusalem and the disputed territories under international law depend on certain prior legally binding decisions which are reflected in international legal instruments. Frequently, allegations of violations of international law against the State of Israel are based on political arguments devoid of legal merit. False narratives are accepted by many globally in the midst of rising antisemitism disguised as anti-Israel/Zionist initiatives. In order to counter the weaponization of international law against Israel, it is vital to increase the knowledge and understanding of the international law sources of the territorial sovereignty entitlements of Israel.

THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN':

Jewish Folk Singers of the '60's

with Cantor Jodi Sufrin and Cantor Roy Einhorn of MA

Wednesday, FEBRUARY 28, 1:00 pm ET

IN-PERSON $18 pp, Wine & Dessert Reception included

Mandel JCC, Boynton Beach,

8500 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33472

Join us for a Cantorial Concert about Jewish Folk Singers of the '60s with Cantor Jodi Sufrin, Cantor Emerita, Temple Beth Elohim, Wellesley, MA and Cantor Roy Einhorn, Cantor Emeritus, Temple Israel, Boston MA. From the immigration of great numbers of Jews in the 1890s through the turbulent 1960s, Jews contributed richly to the American canon, but rarely writing with any Jewish flavor. What inspired Bob Dylan? Phil Ochs? Paul Simon? Carole King? Is it possible that their passion for social justice is rooted in their Jewish values?

CITY OF LAKE WORTH BEACH presents the following:

LAKE WORTH BEACH STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL - 30th Anniversary

Saturday, FEBRUARY 24, 10 am to 9 pm ET

Sunday, FEBRUARY 25, 10 am to 7 pm ET

FREE IN-PERSON

Downtown Lake Worth Beach, along Lake and Lucerne Avenues and surrounding area

Over 600 artists use the pavement as canvas to transform downtown Lake Worth Beach into a temporary outdoor museum of original art and masterpiece reproductions. The tradition of street painting traced back to 16th century Italy when itinerant artists would use their chalks to transform pavement into a makeshift canvas, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries. As in ages past, crowds gather to watch as fine works of art emerge. The “paintings” last only until the next rain, but the lively spirit and accessibility of the exhibition captivates audiences and inspires lasting memories. If you have never seen this or been there, THIS IS A MUST!

We are looking forward to seeing many of our members, friends, and some of our newest members for our NEW MEMBER WELCOMING SHABBAT on Friday, FEBRUARY 16th at 6:30 pm at the Arts and Cultural Center in Downtown Boynton Beach, 125 East Ocean Avenue, Boynton. We have a nice secret that we hope to share very, very shortly ... where we will meet for Shabbat, starting on Friday, FEBRUARY 23, 2024! We have been a bit cramped in the room at the Carlisle for the past two Shabbat celebrations and I think you will be pleased about this CHANGE! We don't want to jinx it, so we will share once we have gotten the final okay! Please stay tuned to our emails and our website and we will post it as soon as we know for certain!

Wishing you love, good health, and peace!

Happy Birthday to Abe Lincoln on Monday!

Happy Valentine's Day on Wednesday!

Have a great week and stay part of L'Dor Va-Dor!
