Welcome back! We are excited to kick off a new academic year with you. We know this past year has been incredibly difficult but we are hopeful as to what this new school year brings.

To officially welcome everyone back this year, the Women's Center will be hosting an Open House on August 26th from 4pm to 6pm. Stop by to see our space, enjoy some refreshments, and grab some swag. No registration is required!
This year we recognize one of many important milestones in Virginia Tech’s history: the 100th anniversary of the admission of women as students. In its 49th year of existence, Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (aka Virginia Polytechnic Institute or VPI) opened its doors to five full-time coeds: Mary E. Brumfield, Billie Kent Kabrich, Lucy Lee Lancaster, Ruth Louise Terrett, and Carrie T. Sibold in 1921.

This year the campus community will celebrate this important moment in our history. We encourage you to learn more about the rich history of women at Virginia Tech by visiting the VT Women’s History Historical Timeline and Digital Exhibit, currently in production, by clicking here.
Meet the Advocates
Join us in welcoming two new Advocacy Coordinators to the Women's Center team. They work to provide support and advocacy services to those who have been impacted by power-based violence. Get to know more about our advocates and learn more about what utilizing our advocacy services looks like.
