The importance of what Smilezone does is that it makes these kids less afraid and more comfortable in an already uncomfortable setting. . . To me that's the purpose of Smilezone. Taking the reality away for a little while and letting the imagination run free. Let the kids be kids. . . They deserve to have fun and be in a setting where they feel safe and comfortable and to me that's what Smilezone provides."

The Smilezone team was busy this past month transforming Smilezones in Peterborough and Sudbury!

Peterborough Regional Health Centre now has SIX new Smilezones complete with sensory panels, bench seating, iPads, murals and more! The Pediatric Outpatient Waiting Room, Treatment Rooms and Entranceway are now comforting, bright spaces for kids to relax and play.

North Bay Regional Health centre's Wordplay Program's waiting room, Group Programming Room and Infant Hearing Screening Room are now more comforting to the children and their families! We installed new sensory tables, murals, a rocking chair and of course bright, popping colours!

NEOKids Children's Treatment centre's Physiotherapy Gym got a big renovation with new mirrored panels, rolling privacy screens, floor mats, murals and storage spaces!
