"If we want to build a safe space and a safe community for everyone...we have to start by breaking the cycle of domestic violence...and empowering survivors."

Preventing Assault

On October 7, CSU San Marco Alpha Chi Omega hosted their annual event, Mr. Alpha Chi, which brings together sororities, fraternities, and the CSU San Marcos community in a commitment to ending violence.

The annual talent show creates a social setting for a serious topic in which contestants and guests share their knowledge about relationship violence and healthy relationships.

Together, the CSUSM participants have raised over $15,000 and counting--all to support CCS programs and prevention work!

Business Leaders Stepping Up for Survivors

Be Boutique, Liverpool Los Angeles, and Hammitt brought their fashion powers together to promote healthy relationships and increase awareness about assault in our community. Joining our DVAM efforts, they hosted a shopping event in La Jolla featuring the newest collections and donated a portion of proceeds to CCS and our mission.

Being an Example

As a young dad learning how to change diapers and baby-proofing our home, I had no clue that the most important part of being a father to my two girls was not only about how to protect them from dangers like I see in my daily work. It's also about modeling examples that will make them healthy and confident women so that they will be more likely to be in relationships without fear or harm.

I want to thank my wife and CCS for opening my eyes to that and hope other dads like me will see that this is one of the most powerful ways to protect our daughters and sons because danger is often a few minutes from your home, or inside it.

Your charitable gift to CCS will change and save lives. From simple things like a welcome kit or stuffed animal for a child, to 24/7 hotline teams, shelter, counseling, legal support, or prevention programs, your donation matters. We still have record requests for services, and we could use your help.

DONATE NOW

Don't forget! Thursday, October 19 is Wear Purple Day

Post a photo of yourself or your favorite critter wearing PURPLE and tag us on your social media! It's an easy and meaningful way to show your commitment to survivors and preventing assault. Okay to post early, too.
