Here we are… it is already almost the end of November! The leaves are falling and GivingTuesday is just around the corner – Tuesday, November 30th. We are asking for your help to be a CASA Lake County Ambassador this year. What is GivingTuesday, you might ask? GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe. To be an ambassador for GivingTuesday: create a personal fundraiser for CASA Lake County through Facebook and share it with your network.

Amidst all of the chaos in the world, you can't change everything, but you CAN make a life-changing impact for a child in foster care. Your help will be so important in helping us reach our goal of $20,000 to provide CASA Volunteers for ten more children next year. Supporting the fundraising event is easy!

Thank you to all of our CASA volunteers who stopped by our coat drive in October to pick up coats and cold winter gear for their CASA children in need!

We are grateful to all of the generous donors who made this possible by donating coats, boots, and more.

Earlier this year, CASA Lake County was awarded a $15,000 grant from Jackson® to help support the agency’s CASA Volunteer Program. Each year it’s critical we recruit and train new community members to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates. Grant funds from Jackson and other donors have helped make it possible for 38 new CASAs so far to join our cause this program year. 15 of these individuals just completed the CASA training classes and took the official CASA oath on November 18.

Kudos for some amazing CASA Volunteers!

To Andrea for her excellent advocacy for one of her CASA children who was returned to their parents but whose educational needs aren’t being met. Andrea has done a fantastic job working with the school to find solutions. Her court reports have been instrumental in keeping the case open for further monitoring.

To CASA Paul for his steadfast commitment to connecting with his CASA youth despite the numerous bureaucratic barriers that have presented themselves as challenges to being able to visit.

To Joe for his excellent mental health advocacy for his CASA youth. He wrote a compelling court report and the judge ordered a reluctant caregiver to restart therapy for the youth.

Mission Statement

CASA Lake County is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system. Based on the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and permanent home, thoroughly trained CASA volunteers work in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel and community resources to serve as the child's advocate and represent the child's best interest in juvenile court.
