Got a green thumb? Got a good eye for design? Do bold colors make you weak-kneed? Whatever the case, we are asking everybody to get their creative juices flowing as the
City of Shenandoah goes into the second session of their new beautification campaign called
Shenandoah Shine!
“
Shenandoah Shine is a two-campaign project to promote the beauty and ongoing upkeep of our vibrant city while having fun competing with your neighbors. The first of the two beautification projects for 2017 just ended in May and had a focus on what made your home welcoming to not only guests but to the neighborhood around you.
The Summer Campaign is called “
Clutter No More.” We are looking for the most improved, decluttered front view of your home. The focus is to declutter some or all of the area of your home that your neighbors view from the street. So if your yard or an area of your front view is a cluttered mess, now would be a great time to join in the fun, declutter and make your home
shine!
Take ONE "before" picture of the area you will be decluttering, and then ONE "after" picture once you have completed your clean up. We can then clearly see your improvements. This will help us determine who has done the best job decluttering the front view of their home.
After you have cleaned up your cluttered area, each participant then submits their two photos for judging. Entries are limited to
ONE before and
ONE after photo only. Deadline for entry is August 31; no entries will be accepted after this date. Judging will be done by the Civic Club on September 12.
The winner will be recognized on the city website on or around September 13. They will also receive a $100 gift card from the Home Depot. We look forward to the participation of enthusiastic Shenandoah residents.
Good luck everyone, and let’s continue to make
Shenandoah Shines
