Supporters like YOU made our nation's heroes feel extra special this Veterans Day
This Veterans Day, supporters like you helped surprise the veterans in our programs with thank you messages. Over 120 heart-warming messages were submitted to us online. So we took those, put them in cards and hand-delivered them to the men and women we serve.

It meant so much to these heroes – many of whom have experienced homelessness and loss – to know that there are people out there who appreciate the sacrifices they had to make to protect all Americans.

Cleatrice Herndon served for six years in the U.S. Marines Corps. After discharge, she struggled to find work and eventually fell into homelessness. Two years ago, she was referred to Volunteers of America and was given her own apartment in our Paca House program in Baltimore. Just a couple blocks away from the local VA Medical Center, Cleatrice not only has a place to call home, she can easily access the center for her medical care.

To watch Cleatrice's priceless reaction to the thank you card she received today, click the video icon below.
There are a lot of veterans out there today without a roof over their heads and support. If you're passionate about helping those who fought for this great nation, consider giving to our Veteran Services.

Your support will provide the housing, employment and care veterans across Maryland, DC, Virginia and the Carolinas deserve and need to thrive.

Let a vulnerable veteran know that they will never be forgotten or left behind by giving the gift of hope today at www.voachesapeake.org/give2veterans or by clicking the button below.
