Exhibits Development Group's latest initiative to advance international cultural exchange - a marketplace where cultural institutions can buy, sell and exchange idle assets
|
|
CultureNut Xchange received an overwhelming response to our launch in December. We have teamed up many institutions seeking specific items with those wishing to relieve their storage and warehouses of idle inventory and assets.
With our parent company, EDG, leader in traveling exhibitions and services, CultureNut is in a unique position to work closely with institutions around the globe, matching buyers and sellers for an array of products and assets being sold.
As the CultureNut website is developed, along with mobile platforms with the University of Minnesota, Venture Enterprises, Carlson School of Management, we will release e-newsletters with available products. The CultureNut platform beta-test will be launched at AAM 2019 in New Orleans and your continued participation and feedback is deeply appreciated.
We are seeking your idle inventory, including hardware, software, cases, conservation equipment, framing equipment and frames, tools, entire exhibitions, exhibits, and more for our next newsletter. Contact Lisa Schmidt at

to discuss ridding the
junk in your institution’s trunk.

PIRATES of Colonial America
was created for the beautiful Door County Maritime Museum of Sturgeon Bay, WI. After closing at the DCMM it gained new life as a traveling exhibition,
Pirates of Colonial America,
for the National Marine Manufacturers Association, which toured the US until 2010.
In 2010, the DCMM wanted to reprise the theme in a new, larger exhibition,
Pirates: Ship to Shore
. The new exhibition included a street of shops, jail, and the interactive 24’ pirate ship,
Fortune
, which featured a complement of weaponry and navigational equipment. This exhibition ran from 2012 through January 2015. The cost of the exhibition to your institution, exclusive of logistics/shipping, is
$77,000 or best offer.

The Vanishing Cowboy
Exploration Place created a popular Americana traveling exhibition,
The Vanishing Cowboy,
that has both historical and universal appeal.
Photographed by the father and son team of Jim and Chris Bertoglio, the native Kansans captured the iconic symbol of the American West – the cowboy. Their stunning photographs reveal the daily lives of the remaining ranchers on the Great Plains. The exhibition celebrates the fading, but enduring, image of the cowboy that has been overshadowed by industrialization and urbanization. The Bertoglios photograph both personal moments and expansive landscapes of working cowboys, their horses, and cattle. The collection of photographs enhances our understanding of ranching culture and encourages viewers to appreciate this vanishing way of life.
The packet includes the following:
- Exhibit Overview
- Exhibition Contains
- 50 framed 20” x 24” photographs with captions
- 3- 20” x 24” interpretive panels
- Docent Questions – questions they can ask their visitors
- Scavenger Hunt questions and answers – educational materials
- Sample Press Release
- Customizable Rack cards
- Installation / De-installation instructions
- Custom designed shipping crates (4)
- 135 running feet
The cost of the project, not including shipping-logistics, is $4,000 or best offer.
