Since the fourth grade, 13-year-old Amanda has been an energetic cheerleader. Last year she began to have bouts of light-headedness, and her mother was told that Amanda had dilated cardiomyopathy and was in heart failure.

Amanda would need an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) to regulate her heart and protect her from sudden cardiac death. An unexpected post-surgery infection kept Amanda in the hospital for 16 days, and her mother, a single mom, had to take off work to be near her daughter. Unable to pay rent, Amanda's mother turned to the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation (CCF) for financial assistance.

Thanks to CCF's Family Assistance Program and generous supporters like you, Amanda and her family were able to stay in their apartment while Amanda received the life-saving care she needed. Amanda's family is eternally grateful for CCF's support.

Please give from the heart and help other struggling families like Amanda's. Support our Family Assistance Program and help cardiomyopathy families when they need it most.
