From Fr. Kevin:
I had no takers for the proposed ministry to the Jews. Click on the link below to see a brochure about this ministry. There's still time if you feel God calling you to participate. Just let me know and we will get this ministry started.
At Synod, I was asked by Canon Daryl Fenton, the Executive Director of Church Ministry Among Jewish People (CMJ) if St. Augustine’s would be interested in starting an outreach ministry to Jewish people. This has been a subject near and dear to my heart and I promised I would see if there is any interest in this ministry in our parish. If you share my passion and would like to be involved in such a ministry, please let me know before Pentecost, June 9. If there is enough interest (and we are only talking a small group) Canon Fenton will plan a weekend visit to help train and equip us for this important ministry.
I urge you, therefore, to do two things: First, don’t let your enculturation make you timid about this ministry. If Jesus really is the only Way to the Father—and we firmly believe him to be—preaching Christ to all who don’t know him, especially his own people, should be of paramount importance to us. We are talking about life and death—literally. Second, pray about this and ask the Lord if he is calling you to this ministry. If he is, contact me before June 9.
