Eunmee Shim, President of Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center


A nurse by trade, Eunmee has a rich history in healthcare leadership. Prior to making southern Prince George’s County her professional home in August 2019, Eunmee served as Chief Strategy Officer for Adventist HealthCare, where she oversaw new business initiatives for one of the longest-serving healthcare systems in the D.C. region. As Chief Strategy Officer, she worked with Adventist HealthCare’s boards and executives to support the development of the organization’s strategic plan.


Eunmee joined Adventist HealthCare in 2011 and served first as the Chief Operating Officer at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved numerous honors for quality care and performance. She also served as the President of Ambulatory Networks for Adventist HealthCare. In that role, Eunmee oversaw the growth of the system’s urgent care and imaging centers.


Eunmee draws on 36 years of healthcare leadership to guide her at Fort Washington Medical Center. She has also served as an Executive Fellow for the national Baldrige Excellence Program and continues to help lead Adventist HealthCare’s Baldrige initiative.

Eunmee holds a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics from Columbia University School of Nursing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea.
