A Message from the NAHCC President & CEO

Dear NAHCC Members and Friends,

September marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month—a time to honor the resilience, achievements, and cultural vitality of our Hispanic community in Nashville, across Tennessee, and nationwide.

Today, Hispanics represent nearly 14% of Nashville’s population and just over 7% across Tennessee. Nationally, our community has grown to 68 million strong—20% of the U.S. population—and our economic impact is extraordinary. In 2023, U.S. Latinos generated $4.1 trillion in GDP, placing us among the largest economies in the world. Across the country, more than 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses contribute over $800 billion annually and are among the most dynamic forces driving job creation, innovation, and cultural enrichment.

Even in challenging times, these numbers tell the story of resilience, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit that define our community—here in Nashville, across Tennessee, and throughout the nation.

As we begin this season of recognition, let’s celebrate these achievements and continue building opportunities, opening doors, and inspiring the next wave of leaders and entrepreneurs.

Our Hispanic Chamber doors are always open. We’re here to connect, support, and walk alongside you.

With gratitude and determination,

Yuri Cunza

NAHCC Vice Chair Manuel Cuevas to be Inducted into Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s 2025 Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame

The Nashville Entrepreneur Center, - a long time NAHCC partners, has announced its 2025 Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame inductees, and we are proud to share that our longtime NAHCC member and current Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, fashion icon Manuel Cuevas, is among this year’s honorees.

Known worldwide as the “Rhinestone Rembrandt,” Manuel has spent more than 60 years designing one-of-a-kind creations for legends such as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones. His decision to bring his business to Nashville in 1988 not only transformed Music Row but also invested in local craftspeople, jobs, and artisan skills that continue to shape Music City’s reputation as a creative hub.

🏆 The President’s “Bridges” Award was given “in recognition of NAIMA’s outstanding contribution through its México en el Corazón program — a celebration of culture, music, dance, and tradition that builds bridges of understanding and pride across borders. By bringing the color, joy, and beauty of Mexico’s heritage to communities across the United States, NAIMA fosters inclusion, unity, and cultural appreciation. Through this work, NAIMA strengthens the bonds that connect us all and enriches the shared fabric of our society.
