• In December, Governor Hochul signed the Short-Term Rental bill into law with key amendments, shifting the registration responsibility from the state to counties. The amendment, signed on February 28, 2025, takes effect 275 days from signing, meaning counties must establish a registration process or opt out by November 28, 2025, while tax provisions began on March 1, 2025.
