As Barrington 220 moves forward in its strategic planning process Framework 220, the district is seeking more of your feedback to develop its mission, vision, strategic priorities and learner profile.

Barrington 220 will be holding eight "Framework 220 Coffee & Conversations". At these meetings, community members will be able to learn more about the work that has been done so far in the process and provide feedback. All community members are welcome to attend.

New classroom additions set to open this fall
Construction crews are working hard on the new classroom additions at Grove Avenue Elementary, Prairie Middle School and Station Middle School, which are expected to open for students and staff at the start of the 2022-23 school year! These new classroom additions eliminate the need for mobile classrooms at each school. Opportunities will be made available in August for the community to tour the new spaces. Construction is set to begin at five more Barrington 220 schools this summer, including Countryside Elementary, Hough Street Elementary, Roslyn Road Elementary, Sunny Hill Elementary and Barrington High School.
Innovation Showcase & Pitch Night at BHS
Barrington High School and the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation are proud to present the Innovation Showcase & Business INCubator Pitch Night on Wednesday, May 18 at BHS! The Innovation Showcase runs from 5pm-6pm near the BHS library and commons. Various booths will feature information about elementary, middle and high school STEM education. It will also include a tour of unique learning spaces at BHS, as well as student work from Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses such as BHS-TV, Mobile Makers, graphic design, engineering, and more! At 6pm the annual Business INCubator Pitch Night begins in the auditorium. Our BHS Business INCubator students will pitch their ideas (ABC Shark Tank style) to a panel of investors. All are welcome!
Online registration for 2022-23 school year
Online Registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. Families planning to attend Barrington 220 Schools in August need to register and update student and family demographic information before May 31. Students can not be officially registered for the 2022-23 school year until Online Registration is completed. The link to registration is in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Questions? Summer school in Barrington begins on Monday, June 6, 2022 for all grade levels. Please note that due to Build 220 construction happening this summer at several school buildings, there are a few location changes:

  • The elementary summer school program that is traditionally held at Roslyn Road Elementary will be held at Arnett C. Lines Elementary. This program serves students from Hough, Lines, North Barrington and Roslyn Road.

  • The Jump Start and Dual Language programs traditionally held at Sunny Hill Elementary will be held at BHS.

  • The middle summer school program will be held at BHS.

New district website coming this summer!
When Barrington 220 returns to school in the fall, the community will find a newly designed district website. The new site, which launches this summer, will have a more modern design, easier navigation, improved accessibility features for visually or motor-impaired users, and more effective search function capabilities. Stay tuned for updates!
Spring teacher tributes now available!
As summer approaches, please consider sending your child's teacher or favorite staff member off with a Teacher Tribute. Your donation to the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation in your teacher's name allows the Foundation to continue funding grants and resources to students and staff. Each recipient will receive a certificate and you may add a personal message. In addition, they will be recognized on the Foundation's website. Save the Date: BCGT virtual May wisdom program
The Barrington Council for the Gifted and Talented (BCGT) is holding a virtual May Monthly Wisdom Program, "The Power of Networking for a Brighter Future". The discussion will feature Gayle Keller, Chief Reinvention Officer of Gayle Keller LLC and Curt Simic, President Emeritus of the Indiana University Foundation. The event will take place on Thursday. May 12 at 7pm and is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Click here to register.
Tickets on sale for Barrington Children's Choir spring concert
Barrington Children's Choir announces its 2022 Spring Concert under the artistic direction of Tom Vendafreddo. We Are the World will feature an exciting program of cultural music from around the globe. The show will be held on Saturday, May 14. Tickets are $25. Click here to purchase tickets.
