IdeaJam: Strategies, Tuesday, Dec. 1

Meet Up With Creatives for Breakout Brainstorming
on Vermont's Next Creative Strategy

Did you know that Vermont's creative sector supports 41,000 jobs and contributes $1 billion to the state’s economy? Pandemic or not, the sector needs our vision and support.

The Vermont Creative Network (VCN) is calling all creative sector artists, businesses, workers, supporters, and entrepreneurs to join in a critical statewide conversation on Tuesday, Dec. 1 about advancing Vermont’s creative sector. By “creative sector,” we mean everything from visual and performing arts to specialty foods, design, film and media, culture and heritage, and literary arts.

VCN is creating a statewide action plan to identify ways to support, market, and grow Vermont’s creative sector and to help ensure the sector contributes to Vermont’s overall economic growth and vibrancy.

IdeaJam: Strategies is the final of three conversations we've held with hundreds of creatives from across the state this fall. We will gather to share the priority strategies that have emerged through these conversations and drill down to how we make them happen. The free event runs from 12-1 p.m., with an optional “speed networking session” a half-hour before at 11:30 a.m. for participants to meet other creative peers from around the state. Register now at

This event is one of several opportunities in 2020 for Vermont creatives to contribute to VCN’s action plan. Anyone can learn more about the process and share ideas online at On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the process will conclude with a “Jamboree”—a day of celebration, sharing, and action ideas. All events are held on Zoom and are free and open to the public. Closed captioning and accommodations are available upon request.
The Vermont Creative Network is a broad collective of organizations, businesses, and individuals working to advance Vermont’s creative sector. Authorized by the Vermont Legislature in 2016, it is a program of the Vermont Arts Council. Learn more about the Vermont Creative Network at, and the action planning process at
