Please join us on February 28th as YANA celebrates Black History Month with a special Town Hall focusing on America’s first Black musical icon, Louis Armstrong.
Regina Bain, Executive Director of the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Queens, will describe how Louis Armstrong - in the midst of the reverberations of slavery, Jim Crow, and the Great Migration - became a global musical ambassador and Civil Rights pioneer.
Under Regina’s leadership, the Museum has gained international recognition — and just last year opened the new 14,000 square foot Armstrong Center, which will preserve Louis Armstrong’s legacy for generations to come.
Our Town Hall will be broadcast via ZOOM using OWL technology to enable YANA members from outside the NY area to participate. This format is an experiment – and we hope it works well. Join us and give us feedback!
This event is open to all YANA members, friends, and family. There is no charge but registration is required. If attending in person, please join us for cocktails in the Main Lounge following the program.
