NL Youth Employment & Education Summit

You're invited to the NL Youth Employment & Education Summit taking place on Wed, Nov. 23, 5:30pm-7:00pm and Thurs, Nov 24, 9:30pm-5:00pm in Corner Brook.

This free event will act as a collision point for the private sector, post-secondary institutions, training agencies, and government departments, and will feature the launch of the results of a three-year community-based research project and training initiative focused on youth education, employment and social enterprise in rural regions across NL.

Together, our goal is to learn how we can strengthen regional economic development through training and employment while engaging and retaining young people in our province.

This event is presented by Choices For Youth and supported by the NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC)

Applied Research on Supportive Training, Social Enterprise and Employment First Practices for the Future of NL is a research project led by Choices For Youth and funded by the NL Workplace Innovation Centre (NLWIC) at College of the North Atlantic (CNA) through the Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills (IPGS) under the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement.

Established in 2017 by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and administered by College of the North Atlantic, NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC) has a provincial mandate to provide a coordinated, central point of access to engage all labour market stakeholders about challenges, opportunities and best practices in workforce development.

NLWIC’s goal is to promote the research, testing and sharing of ideas and models of innovation in workforce development that will positively impact employability, employment and entrepreneurship within the province’s labour force and particularly underrepresented groups. Funding for NLWIC is provided by the Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills (IPGS) under the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement.
