Greetings!
- What Is National Actors Day?
-
This is about giving thanks to all the dedicated actors who help cast our projects by giving us their time and energy to an audition. I am thankful to every talent who has auditioned for a part in any film, TV, or theater project. National Actors Day is about acknowledging their dedication, enthusiasm & perseverance to the industry.
- Why Start A National Actors Day?
-
I'm so very grateful and aware that without actors I would not have a job so I decided to begin a NATIONAL ACTORS DAY. This is about the celebration of all actors from extras to listers but mostly about the every day actor that works so hard and doesn't get recognized. When an actor auditions, they spend their own time, gas, money to do it and may do hundreds throughout their career-all at their expense not knowing if they will get the job. I think that the industry should appreciate it more than we do. Actors deserve a great deal of respect for what they do and what we put them through to cast a film or tv show.
- Actor - Charlton Heston
-
Actor Charlton Heston, in his biography An Actor's Life, noted an actor needs someone to watch him perform. Writers and artists can put together their manuscripts and paint their canvases, he pointed out, whether someone witnesses the activity or not. Actors play to an audience, but if you don't have one, you're not acting.
I hope you will come and join us in our celebration. Details below.
