In order to assist you as the primary educator of your children, BFCCPS offers a series of Pillar Nights throughout the  year.

Recently we shared a Pillar in Action Newsletter on the subject of Student Data and Evaluation. As we explained in this newsletter BFCCPS is  piloting MAP growth assessments as a way to determine your child's instructional level, and academic growth over the year. This assessment can be used to not only measures academic growth throughout the school year, but also from year to year in the areas of Reading, Language, and Mathematics.

BFCCPS invites all parents to learn more about this pilot program by attending the MAP Testing Parent Pillar Night on Monday March 5th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.

During the event, we will:
  • Review the reasons why we have implemented this MAP assessment pilot program.
  • Take a look at a sample MAP Assessment Report
  • Offer a Question and Answer Session for parents on this pilot program

Because we recognize that arranging childcare can be challenging, we have organized babysitting services in the Art Room for students aged five and up. The cost for this service is $10 per family, this is a fundraiser for our upcoming Grade Seven Quebec Trip.
