The Book and Bean Café is sorry to inform you that we will be closing again due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. As a café, our primary mission for eight years has been to provide a community friendly gathering place. Our customers consist mainly of family and friends gathering around food and drinks to socialize, craft or play games.
Most other business is generated from library patrons as they come for activities or computer use. Because the library is not encouraging community activity at this time, the café has largely lost those customers.
Every morning I wake up and read another expert’s suggestion to stay out of enclosed eating and gathering places. This virus has not cooperated with our plans of getting back to business!
Fault lies only with the virus itself and our desire to be safe. As such, we are choosing to wait it out, hopefully, just a little bit longer.
Please do not worry about the Café’s ability to survive. We operate debt free and with a low overhead (thanks to the Library!). We will be back. The tentative date of re-opening is Saturday August 29th.
That date, of course, is subject to change if conditions warrant it. Thank you to all who have supported us during this 3 week attempt at re-opening. It was so great to see everyone again! You are my friends and family.
