Biscayne Bay Summit:

Protecting Our Treasure?

Biscayne Bay is many things to many people - cherished playground, beloved backyard, economic engine, ecological and environmental preserve, and more.

It is also home to illegal mooring fields, questionable waste water management practices, and backdrop to unsafe watercraft incidents.

How do we come together to protect and preserve this incredible natural resource, change mindsets about how it can and should be used, and ensure that going forward, it is treated with the care and concern it deserves?

Join us for a panel discussion on Thursday, April 27,

covering these topics and more, and featuring:

Irela Bague - Miami-Dade County’s first Chief Bay Officer

Dave Doebler - Miami Beach resident and activist, including Member of the County Biscayne Bay Watershed Management Advisory Board, Steering Committee Member of the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Coalition

Amy Knowles - City of Miami Beach Chief Resiliency Officer

Helena Solo-Gabriele, Ph.D., P.E., University of Miami professor researching, among other things, the water quality issue surrounding Park View Island
