Covering a multitude of different techniques, we will talk about everything from how to mark your fabric to how you can place embroidery designs in an instant.

Quilting in the middle of the quilt is the easy part! What happens when you get over to the edge of your quilt? Let's talk about how to build an edge-to-edge quilt design in the machine, how to crop the design to the perfect size and even which hoops help save on batting and backing.

Learn the tips and tricks of construction sewing and decorative top cover stitches in this fun, lecture/demo event. Installing a zipper has never been so easy! You’ll also discover how to bind, install piping, create a lettuce edge, make professional-looking straps, and even crochet with your serger. You’ll learn techniques you didn’t even know your serger could do—and gain the confidence to sew like a pro!

Wondering why you get puckers in your embroidery? Do you have to pull on your fabric to get a tight hooping? Curious how to hoop a hat, tote bag or socks? Let's hoop it all! From standard hoops to magnetic hoops and more, I'll show you every type of hooping so you can embroider on anything!

Are you dying to make a bag but intimidated by all the hardware and zippers, and parts? Have you made bags and found them to be an annoyance because the directions were unclear? Let Connie simplify and show you best practices in bag making that will have you whistling while you work. You’ll see a few different bag zipper installations, her favorite and easiest way to make handles, easy box corners, fusibles to get the weight you want, and more.

Meet Our Guest Educators!

Barb Lewis

Sharing creativity with others is one of Barb’s greatest joys. She loves helping people discover new techniques, build confi dence, and learn to appreciate their own creative abilities. For more than 15 years, she has taught sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels. As a Baby Lock National Educator, she travels throughout the country teaching classes, presenting at events, and inspiring sewists to try something new

 

Kate Green

Kate is the Embroidery Education Specialist for BERNINA of America. In addition to being an expert contributor on We All Sew, Kate has also been a BERNINA event team member, written several articles for Creative Embroidery Magazine and has been a frequent contributor to Aurifil’s Auribuzz blog.

 

Connie Buick

Connie is an accomplished seamstress and has been working in the sewing industry for over 15 years. Her passion is for home décor and design, as well as teaching her skills to others! She is an expert in the creation of bags, pillows, clothing and quilts. Currently, she works for a major sewing notions distributer and we are lucky to have her come and teach us what she knows about bag making!
