Dear MSP Family,

We are thrilled to invite you to our 45th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday May 15th, where we will commemorate 45 years of providing lifesaving services to survivors of domestic violence.

Over the last 45 years, My Sister’s Place has been a refuge for thousands of women and children fleeing their abusers. From our roots as a small shelter serving 20 families at a time and running the city’s first hotline, we have grown to serving over 500 women and children each year across a continuum of care. Our services include two emergency shelters, transitional housing, cash assistance, and comprehensive support services such as 1:1 case management, workforce development, therapy, and more.

While we have much to celebrate, the need for MSP’s transformational programs continues to grow. Homelessness in DC rose over 11% last year, with domestic violence being the leading cause for families. Even as the need for supportive services grows, government funding for these services has recently been cut, and we need your help to raise the difference.

Our 45th Anniversary Celebration will be held on May 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Decatur House, a beautiful historic venue conveniently located near the White House. The event promises to be an impactful evening with heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and an engaging program. You will learn about MSP’s impact from past MSP clients, our current work from our staff, and take part in honoring our incredible volunteers. Tickets and additional information are available on our website.
