Fusion Collaboration Dinner

Join us on Thursday, January 23rd at Prairie Grass Cafe for a fusion collaboration dinner with Tigist Reda of Demera!

This special 5-course tasting dinner will feature menu items that are the perfect fusion of Chef Sarah’s classic French-inspired American food and Chef Tigist's Ethiopian food.


Dinner will feature braised Ethiopian spiced lamb, rack of lamb and potato gratin.

$85 per person (not including tax or gratuity).


Add a wine flight paired to the dinner by Prairie Grass Cafe’s Sommelier, Pierre Lasserre, for $54 (not including tax or gratuity).

Chef Sarah Stegner and Chef Tigist Reda

Sarah Stegner is a two-time James Beard Award Winner and was recently named Restaurateur of the Year by the Illinois Restaurant Association. Stegner is a founding member of Green City Market (501c3), The Abundance Setting (501c3), and Chicago Chefs Cook (501c). She is a member of the Chef Corp for WCKITCHEN. She also acts as an advisor to Chef Sebastian White of The Evolved Network. She recently won an award from Disability Matters North America for the Sensory Friendly Hours hosted at Prairie Grass Cafe. 

Demera’s Chef & Owner, Tigist Reda, was born and raised in Ethiopia and has lived in Chicago for the past 20(+) years. She learned the secrets of traditional Ethiopian cuisine from the elder women in her family, by helping them to prepare family meals and banquets. As an adult, Tigist discovered that she had a passion for entertaining guests and for sharing herself and her family’s culture with them. Several months later, with the help of her former husband, Tigist opened Demera Ethiopian Restaurant and began serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine to the public.
