The Blue Earth County Historical Society is presenting a program on the Census titled “Making Sense and Cents of the Census” on
Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Noon
This program will explore both the history of the U.S. Census and how it impacts our everyday life.
Did you know that the U.S. Census helps determine support for our schools, roads, and our overall quality of life? Explore the history of census taking, how to use historical census records and how the Census impacts not only today, but also our future.
This program is in conjunction with our latest temporary exhibit:
A Century of Civic Engagement: League of Women Voters Minnesota.
The Minnesota Legislature voted YES on September 8, 1919 to ratify the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Visit this vibrant exhibit that features Minnesota's suffrage story, highlighting the women who made it happen – and who continue to lead to make democracy work for all.
