Envision's Strategic Foresight graduates

February 2025

Through this network of trained futurists, we hope to make strategic foresight

part of the DNA of Northeast Wisconsin, driving our preferred

futures rather than simply reacting to what happens.

World Futures Day

... help shape our community's future

Join Envision's Foresight Network, community leaders and decision-makers, and representatives from business, nonprofits, government and education.

It's our future – our choice.

Mark your calendar now. Although World Futures Day is on March 1, we'll be celebrating here on February 28. You'll be able to purchase one ticket or reserve an entire table! We are offering a lot of positive exposure to event sponsors. Email Susan Garot for more.

Meet our keynote speaker, Jonathan Brill, called "the world's leading transformation architect" by Harvard Business Review, and "a Silicon Valley legend" by Inc.

Magazine. He is the author of Rogue Waves: future-proof your business to survive and profit from radical change.

Our audience will also hear reports from Envision's signals teams. They have been scanning for signals and identifying trends for several years now, all aimed at shaping a "community of choice."

Preparing Northeast Wisconsin for the

Next Wave of Robotics

The Manufacturing Alliance and Envision Greater Green Bay invite you for a Free Lunch & Learn Webinar led by Futurist Garry Golden

Date: Friday February 14th

Time: Noon, CT

Location: Online (Zoom)

The Robotics industry is at an inflection point. Advancements in AI and hardware have created a bullish environment for a new wave of startups in China and the US focused on developing collaborative industrial robots and general-purpose humanoid robots. The socialization of robotics is happening within social media platforms used to share videos of humanoid robots doing mind-bending movements. Signals are strengthening and suggest a potential tipping point with widespread societal and industrial implications.

The future of humanoid and industrial robots is uncertain but we are confident that disruptive changes will emerge in the years ahead.

Read the "On the Threshold of Change" report to learn how the Institute for the Future’s strategic foresight research identified four key forces essential for helping youth in foster care thrive by 2035

  • Equitable Transition: Access to stable housing, financial security, and education.
  • Restorative Care: Holistic support for mental and physical health.
  • Relational Design: Strong family ties and social connections.
  • Computational Advantage: Enhanced access to technology and digital skills.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Child and Family Wellbeing collection is a comprehensive resource that explores the critical factors influencing the health and wellbeing of children and families, from social determinants like income and education to community support systems. These research-based insights into the trends and future scenarios for child and family wellbeing, can inform long-term projections and strategies for addressing challenges in public health and social policy.

Book Reviews - Tariffs Are Coming

Trade War Is Class War by Matthew Klein and Michael Pettis

The aggressive approach to international trade that began in the first Trump administration will get renewed life in the next four years. What will it mean for Americans struggling to get by month to month? The United Ways’ annual ALICE study (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) is ample evidence of this constituency. The most recent ALICE data shows that 1 in 3 households in Brown County struggle to meet their basic needs. As a member of ENVISION Greater Green Bay’s Upward Mobility Signals Team, I wanted to better understand this renewed focus on tariffs and what they will mean for our low-income citizens.
