At a recent Stoney River Marshfield Memory Café, two sisters reunited after nearly a lifetime apart. One sister, Esther, lives at Stoney River assisted living, and the other, Irene, lives in memory support.
After Esther got married and moved to Illinois, Irene stayed in Wisconsin and worked a farm with her family. With the demands of farming and family, the two sisters drifted apart.
They reconnected at a Memory Café and shared a joyful sister moment at February’s Valentine-themed gathering.
“It was so awesome,”
says Valerie Meddaugh, Stoney River's VIVA! Life Coordinator. “
Irene hugged Esther so hard at the end, they almost fell over.”
