I Too Sing America:
 An America250 Call and Response, May 21


Dear Friends,


I am excited to reach out to you and personally invite you to a robust fireside chat about American identity past, present and future with Harold Steward, Executive Director of the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), and Dr. Akeia de Barros Gomes, Director of the Center for Black History at the Newport Historical Society.


The event, I, Too, Sing America: An America250 Call and Response with Harold Steward and Dr. Akeia de Barros Gomes, Thursday, May 21, 5:30 p.m.– 7 p.m., Great Friends Meeting House, 21 Farewell St., Newport, will feature a reading of poetry authored by Langston Hughes, and remarks by R.I. Secretary of State, Gregg Amore.


We are hosting I, Too, Sing America in partnership with the Newport Historical Society, New England Foundation for the Arts, and RI250. The program is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).


Free event with light refreshments. Parking is available.
