Jump into a new year with Women of Vision! We hope you'll join us for another year of learning and transformation, both for our own lives and thousands of children who will discover life in all its fullness.
Our theme this year is LIFE, HOPE, AND A FUTURE. World Vision's work, everything they do in each sector of operations, is focused to bring life, hope, and a future to every child. We are privileged to be part of World Vision's mission and, indeed, God's plan to end extreme poverty.
At our Kick-Off on October 2nd, we welcome back special guest speaker, Ray Norman. Many of you will remember his harrowing story.
Ray was raised in rural West Africa, the son of medical missionaries. After years of work in Africa and the Middle East, he joined World Vision as the national director in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. There, his family made headlines: he and his daughter survived an attempt on their lives, then stunned the country by forgiving their assailant and continuing to serve in Mauritania. He details that journey in his book, Dangerous Love: A True Story of Tragedy, Faith, and Forgiveness in the Muslim World.
Recently, Ray served as World Vision’s WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Director of Faith Leadership. In this role he was responsible for developing a practical framework for World Vision’s water programs in multi-faith contexts, where social, cultural, and religious dynamics can differ widely. In 2019, he was appointed to his current role as the WASH Global Sector Lead for World Vision International.
