We were painting faces at the rev.Local Festival last weekend, and met some amazing local vendors. Jewellery makers, cupcake designers, and a Vancouver toy maker who designs educational puzzles. So fun! We also gave away a one-month membership, and 3 hours free to Jenny, and we look forward to meeting a new friend!

That's got us looking forward to our own mini-festival -  Bee friends, with Buddings  - happening on July 11, from 11am - 1pm. There's going to be crafts and facepainting, a talk about bees, and the chance for families and kids to connect to their community.

Join us for our Neighbourhood Party - this Saturday!

Our Summer Fieldtrip program - Big Kids Abroad - is underway! The kick-off trippers caught a show at the jazz festival, and there are so many more to come! Details are below.

Just in time, the summer staff shuffle is sorted out, and we're pleased to give you the news. Our teachers are settling in and showing off their skills! Meet Lara and Judy, and our newest full-fledge teacher, Sara, graduates from the internship, and posts her first blog, all in one week!

There's a lot to keep track of, and we're doing our best! Find all the latest in the articles below!

Big Kids Abroad - Fieldtrip Program Rocks!

Starting this week, our super summer field trip program - Big Kids Abroad - will have us out and all about, all summer long!

We have two trips a week, in-house music classes, art and activities, and a big love for fun in the sun! Check the schedule of upcoming events on the Big Kids Abroad page.

Last week, Johanna took the kids for our first Granville Island exploration, to catch the CloudMaker Trio at the Jazz Festival.

Our crew of little listeners caused a stir in the audience... with their excellent behaviour! Johanna accepted the congratulations and there's a post on the blog, where you can find the full story!
The Creative Cast at Buddings!

Sara King joined our centre team two months ago, and we're so thrilled that she's here! She's become a toddler table fixture in the mornings, and as she's gotten more and more comfortable, we've learned all kinds of things!

First and foremost, Sara loves to draw! Her cartoon creations are fun and friendly, and this week, she shares her big passion with the big kids at Buddings, and with you! Find her first ever post on the blog!

This summer, we're also hosting some summer practicum students from Sprott Shaw College. For the month of July, Judy Kim will be joining us every morning, and helping out with the Fieldtrip Programs every Friday afternoon!

And last, but not least, the lovely Lara Blacklock settles in for Saturdays! Lara is a photographer, facepainting master, UBC communication arts student, AND the newest teacher at Buddings.

She's already covered quite a few sub shifts this month, and is helping out in the mornings, but starting in July, she's also taking on the planning for our Saturday-care  program. Watch for details on the blog - coming soon!
