On behalf of Sue Phillips
we would  like to invite you to the
Art & Scent Workshop
presented by  Sapar Contemporary
This year, Sapar Contemporary is embarking on a series of innovative and experimental events around the themes and concepts critical to the DNA of Sapar Contemporary: multi-art and multi-disciplinary engagement, connection between visual art and food, sound, scent, and movement, materiality of cultural traditions, new media and the future of creativity, art, and well being.

This hands-on workshop will introduce the professional perfume expert, Sue Phillips', palette, and discuss how fragrances are created from fundamental ingredients, both natural and synthetic.  The event will be pairing unique fragrance ingredients with  the artist Faig Ahmend's visually rich and contemporary rugs, currently on exhibit within the gallery.

Phillips will guide you in exploring the intricate connection between visual and olfactory stimuli, offering a primer on the essential olfactory vocabulary used by perfumers, scent critics, and scent aficionados. A special highlight of this session is an opportunity to customize your very own signature scent baed on your chosen fragrance family.

Sapar Contemporary is the brainchild of Raushan Sapar and Nina Levent. Sapar Contemporary spans three generations and five continents. They engage in global conversations and develop vocabularies that resonate as strongly in Baku, Almaty, and Istanbul, as they do in New York, Berlin, and Mexico City.

Their artistic practices vary from meditative traditional ink painting to writing programming code; what connects them are the artist's capacity to empathize, insight, and imagination; their whimsy and generosity of spirit, as well as the rigor and depth of their studio practice. Sapar Contemporary commissions works that are site-specific to New York, but infused with sensibilities, materialities, and traditions of the artist's backgrounds.

Sue Phillips, founder of Scenterprises and The Scentarium, is an international fragrance expert.  Having developed fragrances for Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Trish McEvoy, among others. She established her perfumery, The Scentarium, in Tribeca to create custom fragrances for men, women, groups, bridal events, corporations and team-building events.

Most recently she created custom scents for Jamie Foxx, Katie Holmes, Lisa Vanderpump,
and the iconic newcomer, Zendaya Coleman.

Sue says. "Why wear what everyone else wears, when you can create your own?"
