The most visible development sites are the
Shadelands SportsMall
, the 215,000-sq-ft sports training super center at 2640 Shadelands Drive [

), and
Viamonte at Walnut Creek

SHADELANDS SPORTSMALL TAKES SHAPE
|
With most of the exterior walls of the
Shadelands Sportsmall
at 2640 Shadelands Drive enclosed, the distinctive SportsMall styling is evident to passersby. In dramatic view are the vivid blue and yellow stripes of the turf fieldhouse at COPA Soccer Training Center and the giant soccer ball perched above its entrance. On display too is the custom-designed tile mural on the southwest corner of the building representing the variety of sports programs to be offered at the SportsMall.
Interior spaces are also taking shape. Colorful climbing walls have been installed at
Encore Gymnastics
. The swimming pool has been dug for
American Swim Academy
. And
COPA Soccer Training Center
is busy constructing its individual soccer training spaces and competition facilities while installing its tech-based training equipment.
Visit tenant websites and social media pages for more construction news, grand opening activities, sports programs, and registration announcements.

MORE THAN AN OFFICE, TENANT HAS FOUND A HOME
|
John Kravitz is a registered associate marriage and family therapist who works with individuals and couples, and specializes in counseling couples in conflict who are dealing with significant relationship issues.
“Some couples don’t know how to communicate, or don’t know what to do with their children or their parents," says Kravitz, who is also a certified hypnotherapist. "Some are in grief over job loss, infidelity, anger issues, or because divorce is on the horizon. I help those in crisis.”
Kravitz moved into Shadelands in May 2018 with five suite mates and has found the location, amenities, and abundant free parking to be everything he had hoped for in a therapist’s office setting.
“This is a home for us, with warm, welcoming rooms and beautiful landscaping all around
—
the trees, the lawns, and the open spaces,” says Kravitz. “Our clients step out of their busy lives and come in here, a comfortable, peaceful place where they can relax and focus on themselves. With all the low-lying buildings, we have plenty of natural light and every window has a lovely, calming view."

FREE BIKESHARE PROGRAM RIDES INTO THE SUNSET JAN 15
|
In January 2018, Shadelands launched a dockless bikeshare program in partnership with LimeBike, which deployed 300 smart-bikes throughout the 267-acre Shadelands business center. The innovative plan provided free rides for Shadelands employees, while the general public used the bikes for $1 per 30 minutes. The bikes are wildly popular and well used, but it has become clear that LimeBike is unable to fully provide for that arrangement, so Shadelands is exploring other bikeshare options. January 15 is the last day of the free-ride trial, though LimeBikes will still be available throughout Shadelands and Walnut Creek for a fee.

BASS MEDICAL GROUP DONATES 430 WARM COATS
|
One Warm Coat
is a national nonprofit that works to provide free, warm coats to people in need through locally held coat drives. Coats are distributed to children and adults in the communities where they were collected.
Using One Warm Coat resources,
BASS Medical Group
held a holiday coat drive, partnering with
Love a Child Missions
, a Bay Point shelter for homeless women and children. On Thursday December 6, 2018, BASS employees boxed up their donations and delivered 430 warm coats to appreciative women and children in need.
Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults can't work effectively, and children find it difficult to learn. For most, a warm coat solves the problem. But, for the nearly 15% of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget “extra.”
