Wishing You Good Luck

Hello CBS,

Academically, you’re on the cusp of wrapping up another quarter. With two quarters (almost) behind us and only one more to go, it’s time to focus on your short- and long-term goals. It can be daunting, but don't worry—we're all here to support you!

In the short term, as you prepare for finals, consider taking advantage of the improving weather by connecting with nature. Our friends at the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Gardens suggest taking a stroll through the East Asian Collection on the banks of Lake Spafford, which is a very popular study spot. You'll catch some warm rays of sunlight, and you might even find a four-leaf clover—the universal symbol of good fortune.

Just remember, if you feel stressed or overwhelmed, give yourself time to step away from screens to recharge, or go for a walk with a friend. Before you know it, you'll be done with finals and enjoying your well-earned spring break.

Meanwhile, good luck your Winter Quarter finals—you've got this!

Why am I So Tired?

Daylight Savings Time (DST) started at 2 am on March 10, springing our clocks ahead by one hour. It can take a week for your circadian rhythm and body to adjust. To get yourself ready for Winter Quarter finals next week, try these tips:

  • Stick to a schedule and be consistent with eating, social, bed and exercise times.
  • Have a nighttime ritual and make a habit of slowing your body down to optimize rest.
  • No long naps! While we love a good nap, it could backfire! A nap decreases your body’s sleep pressure, making to fall asleep at night.
