Dear Gluten,

How would you answer this question?

Living gluten-free today is:
Challenging?
Manageable?
Easy?

As we celebrate our 50th year of service to the gluten-free community, we can’t help but think of how far we’ve come in making living gluten-free manageable, and where we need to go in the future to make it easy. Gluten-free living, and the world of gluten intolerances, like celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, is ever-evolving, and we are here to navigate it together.

Join Our Unforgettable Event:

We set high standards and are doing our best to hold brand partners accountable to remain compliant. It’s the commitment GFCO and our clients make to ensure gluten-free food is safe. And the GFCO process works. The goal is to prevent problems from the get-go, find any that may exist, and fix them before a product ever makes its way into your hands.

In the past three years, 87 recalls were prevented because the GFCO standards worked. You won't hear about these recalls, because the problems were corrected BEFORE products made it to market, though not without cost to the manufacturer.

What’s more, 42% of GFCO clients who participated in a 2023 survey believed that GFCO certification requirements likely prevented incidents that may have resulted in a potential recall.

The plain truth is... the chances of a problematic product being sold is quite literally 1 in a million.

Safety alerts are a sign that GFCO is working and protocols in place are doing exactly as they were intended to.

GFCO has withdrawn product certification from Best Express Foods, Inc., (doing business as Universal Bakery), the maker of Aussie Bites and other products. It is advised that gluten-free consumers NOT eat Aussie Bites.  Read our press release for further information and follow GIG on social media for real-time updates and important information.
