            You already know the impact Harlem School of the Arts has on your child: You've seen it in the way your child comes home from rehearsal, the way they talk about their teacher, maybe the way they've started carrying themselves differently, standing a little taller, speaking a little more clearly, knowing they belong somewhere.

            Jude Perry-Evans has been part of what makes that possible. As a lead teaching artist and rehearsal director in HSA's Dance Department, he's been part of the HSA family for nearly a decade, and he's stayed because of students like yours.

            Jude grew up in New Orleans singing in choirs, dancing, playing clarinet in the marching band, performing in orchestra and jazz band, doing it all because those programs existed in his schools and his community, and he was the kind of kid who showed up for all of them.

            But pursuing any of it formally wasn't always accessible to him, and not every gift got the development it deserved. That's what sets Harlem School of the Arts apart, and what made it feel like something worth staying for:

            
              "HSA is a one-stop shop where a child can explore all the different disciplines. Maybe they don't want to take a vocal class, but they can take an acting class.             You already know HSA as one of the few places in New York City where students can study music, dance, theatre, and media design all under one roof. What you may not know is that the training your child receives – instruction valued at nearly $10,000 – comes at little to no cost to most of our families. That is only possible because of donors who believe in this work.

            Our fiscal year closes June 30, and we're raising $75,000 to close it strong. As the school year winds down, I hope you will consider making a charitable contribution to HSA. Every dollar goes directly to the instruction, rehearsals, performances, and the teaching artists who show up for your children every day.
