What are we saying?

“I come to St. Paul’s to learn about God and the Bible and to help people on their journey.” -Cora, 10

A bounty of answers. . .

Q: Stewardship, Giving, Generosity. . . what’s it all about?

A: Stewardship is the care of another’s resources; it’s how we care for all that God has entrusted to us as individuals and as a church at St. Paul’s. Giving is how we share with others through the investment of our resources. Generosity is a lifestyle to which Jesus calls us as we seek to live and love like Jesus who gave his all generously for each of us. Long before we were here, there were others who were planting the seeds of faithful stewardship, visionary giving, and abundant generosity so that we might celebrate the harvest we have today. Every October, we begin to think about how we might invest in the harvest that is to come at St. Paul’s through our Generosity Campaign. Together, we’ll prayerfully consider what God is calling each of us to give towards our ministries together in 2023. Join us as this exciting season as we share some visions towards where God is leading us and remember “You will always harvest what you plant” (Galatians 6:7).

While the Mission was not directly impacted by the recent flooding in Eastern Kentucky, they still have felt the residual effect and are part of the long term recovery. Your prayers and continued financial support will be greatly appreciated.

Sunday Worship

10 a.m. in Sanctuary & on Facebook

Enough is Enough

This is World Communion Sunday. While not part of the campaign, I think we can lean into what is to come in the next few weeks. When faced with feeding 5,000 people, not including the women and children, the disciples shirk at the thought of how that might be done. There is nothing among them but five loaves and two fish. They come from a young boy who might not even be included on the count. Yet when the one who doesn’t count entrusts what he has to Jesus, miracles happen. . . and enough is enough! Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

Sunday Worship

10 a.m. in Hickey Hall

Enough is Enough

This Sunday is World Communion Sunday, a moment as United Methodists where we take the opportunity to reflect on what it means to be a part of the global church. We will part take in communion at the round tables, sharing in the Bountiful Harvest passing simple elements as we hear the retelling of the parable of Jesus feeding the multitude of people on what was gathered by the crowd.

Rev. Dr. April Gutierrez

Vesper Service Thursday
Thursday at 7 p.m. for worship on Facebook

Unwind, relax, reflect, and connect with God.

Charles Wesley's Songbook

Charles Wesley (1707-1788), John’s brother, wrote 6,500+ hymns, many of which we still sing. He was more than that, though. Charles was a person of strong faith and missionary zeal, but living in John Wesley’s shadow couldn’t have been easy. The brothers had major disagreements. Consider how those who follow Christ can be effective and co-exist, despite differing gifts, priorities, and opinions.
