Luncheon Immediately Following Services
UJA Westchester and the Young Israel of Scarsdale UJA Campaign invite you to join us for the annual UJA Shabbat with guest speaker Nadav Eyal, a leading Israeli journalist and political analyst. Young Israel of Scarsdale has a long tradition of supporting UJA through an annual campaign, reflecting the congregation's deep commitment to Tzedakah and Kehillah.
• Derasha following Mussaf — A great miracle happened there: an inside look at some of the most miraculous missions Israel’s ever seen.
• Luncheon topic — The news everyone’s talking about: the players, the politics & the people of Israel.
We’ll also hear about UJA’s powerful work healing and rebuilding Israel and confronting the sharp rise in antisemitism at home.

Community-Wide Shabbat Dinner Honoring Our Peace of Mind IDF Heroes
Friday, May 23, 2025
YIS is honored to be hosting a group of 21 IDF soldiers from Reserve Unit 551 and two therapists through the Peace of Mind program. Peace of Mind is a therapeutic intervention program in which IDF veterans receive time and space to process their combat experiences. From May 18 to May 25, our community will have the opportunity to provide these heroes space, hospitality and Chizuk as they participate in a weeklong therapy workshop in our community.
Shabbat dinner (Friday, May 23) is the highlight of the week—a time when the veterans and our community can come together. Over dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with these heroes, hear their stories, and show your support. We encourage everyone to participate for what promises to be an inspirational and unifying Shabbat evening. Please sign up using the link below.
