An Important Message Regarding Safety & Wellbeing of Our YIS Community

Dear Friends,

With many of our children playing outside of Shul on Shabbat morning, we wanted to bring to your attention an important issue related to the safety, security and wellbeing of our children and overall community.

As so many of us walk through the front parking lot, we ask that children not ride their scooters in the front parking lot area after initially “parking” them underneath the side awning. Children are permitted to safely ride their scooters on the side of the building and in the back parking lot.

In addition, children should not venture behind the Shul building on the side near Weaver Street, as this is not an area that is safe for them to play.

Finally, it is so vital that we keep our Shul campus, our communal Makom Kadosh, clean. Accordingly, everyone (adults and children) should be reminded to throw away any trash and wrappers in the closest garbage bin.

We should treat our spiritual home as we would treat our own physical homes. We are all in this together and only with your partnership can we achieve what we aspire to - for us all - our extended YIS family. In this spirit, we ask that you please partner with us in implementing these important safety measures and inform your children of these vital protocols.

Be a Part of Our Legacy & Join Our Exciting YIS Expansion w/ the 200+ Families Who Have Already Generously Pledged - Help Us Build the Future of Am Yisrael!

Rabbi Morgenstern and our devoted expansion committee have shared with us a compelling case for how and why our YIS Capital Campaign is so important, not just for the future of our community - for our children and grandchildren - but also for the future of an engaged, vibrant and connected Am Yisrael in this country.

We are working on creating another exciting and inspiring year of programs and speakers that will continue to impact and elevate our community.

New Pledge Opportunity!*

*For New Donors

“Great Wall of Am Yisrael:”

Influential Figures in Jewish-Israeli History

We have been in discussions with the incredible Shuk Graffiti Artist, Solomon Souza, about elevating some of our outdoor spaces with the spirit and colorful imagery of Israel - specifically outside our Social Hall and on the new Outdoor Children’s Veranda. This Project is called:

“The Great Wall of Am Yisrael:

Influential Figures in Jewish-Israeli History”

These unique pieces of art will consist of up to 18 portraits (Rambam, Rashi, Golda Meir etc.) as well as a one-of-a kind beautiful “Gesher Yisrael” Mural, artistically commemorating the special link between the YIS Community & Am Yisrael B’Eretz Yisrael.

  • Historical Figure Dedication - $54,000/per
  • Gesher Yisrael” Mural - $100,000

Please contact Rabbi Morgenstern or Ari Weinberger for a list of potential Historical Figures

Please help us fulfill our ambitious goal of $15,000,000+. So far, thanks to the incredible generosity of 200+ families in our community, we have already eclipsed $14,000,000 in this exciting capital raise. However, this incredible achievement only reflects close to 50% of our congregation, and we humbly call upon ALL OF YOU to participate in this once-in-a-generation project in a way that is meaningful to you and to your family.

Your pledge (which can be paid out over 3 - 5 years) will secure the Jewish future for years to come in our expanded facility that will serve the needs of the thousands that will continue to hear our unique message, be inspired by our Shul's dynamic energy and live our Jewish lives in a way that perpetuates a love of Torah, Am Yisrael, and Medinat Yisrael.

Thank you, in advance, for your commitment to partner with us in

“Building the Future of Am Yisrael, One Brick at a Time”.

Thank you!

We are grateful for the strength, support, and inspiration we find in our Young Israel of Scarsdale family. The Kol Nidre Appeal sustains the programs and people that make our shul a true home — from Youth, Shabbat and Holiday programming, outstanding speakers and distinguished guest presenters, Adult Education and Sisterhood events, and our devoted clergy, Shlichim, and the support they offer. Your generosity ensures we can meet today’s needs while building for tomorrow.

Dear Young Israel of Scarsdale,

Thank you for joining ATS for a very special Shabbat Oneg to learn more about the Technion’s aerospace innovations. It was wonderful to spend Shabbat with you, and learn from General (ret.) Amikam Norkin and Professor Vitaly Shaferman about how cutting-edge research is shaping Israel’s defense for the future.

A heartfelt thank you Adeena and David for graciously opening your beautiful home and creating such a warm and meaningful atmosphere for this event! Thank you also to Howard Wiesenfeld, ATS NY Metro Board Member, from your community, who helped share why Technion and ATS is so important to him and to Israel.

To learn more about the Technion’s role in developing hypersonic defensive technologies, please explore our attached DefenseTech brochure. I also invite you to sign up for our newsletter so you can stay informed about upcoming events, speakers, and other exciting news from the Technion in the NY area.

Thank you for joining us and to learn how to strengthen the Technion and Israel’s future. Please feel free to be in touch with me directly should you have any questions or would like to learn more about how to get involved.

We hope to welcome you at upcoming ATS events!

Kol tuv,
