2-3 Cheshvan October 8-9
Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce that this year we will once again be offering a "Shul School Lite" program during the 2021-2022 academic year in the late afternoon once a week beginning the week of October 18th. Our “Shul School Lite” program is geared towards boys and girls who are currently in public or private schools that are outside the traditional Jewish Day School system. It affords the ability for everyone in our communal orbit to receive engaging Jewish enrichment classes taught by our Rabbinic and educational staff.
We offer two groups during "Shul School Lite" in which we will have fun, interactive learning experiences. One group will be for 5th-7th grade and the other will be for 8th-9th grade. We cover topics such as the weekly Parsha, Jewish holidays and the big questions of Judaism.
The sessions will be led by dynamic educational professionals: Rabbi Nuriel Klinger, Edna Krausz and our Bnei Akiva Shlichot, Carmel and Eden. The cost is $550/child for the year. To register see below and for more information on the exact timing of each group please contact Rabbi Klinger,  nuri.klinger@gmail.com .

If you are looking for a more extensive Hebrew School Program for your child, there is one at the local Chabad run by Rochel Butman. For more information on that program please speak to Rochel Butman ( butmanrb@gmail.com), or visit their website at http://alefbetschool.com/

Important YIS COVID Related Announcement
We have created an e-mail address at YISHEALTH@gmail.com to make it easier for individuals who have been to shul to self-report COVID-19 cases. The e-mails will only be sent to a small group (including a medical professional) who will then determine appropriate steps to be taken, if any. As always, reports will be kept confidential unless the individual elects to be identified to assist in contact tracing.

REGISTER TODAY!

As many of you are aware, Irene and Hirsh Cogan's granddaughter, Ellie, was diagnosed with brain cancer shortly before her first birthday last summer. The family created The Ellie Ruby Foundation following Ellie's diagnosis to raise awareness and secure funding for pediatric cancer research, and to provide emotional support and financial assistance to families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

The Foundation is hosting its second annual Warrior Walk in support of pediatric cancer warriors on Sunday, October 17.

The Westchester walk will start at 12:00pm on the corner of Penn Boulevard and Swarthmore Road.
