URGE ALBANY TO FULLY FUND ITS STEM REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM
A recent study by the National Association of Manufacturing and Deloitte projected that 3.5 million new STEM jobs will be created between 2017-2027. But the same study estimated that nearly 2 million of these jobs will go unfilled.
New York State has recognized the need to invest in STEM initiatives and has begun to reimburse New York’s nonpublic schools for the salaries of qualified STEM teachers.
More than 300 schools requested $81 million in total funding in the first year of this program, however the State only funded a small fraction of the requested need.
Help us tell Albany to fund its STEM Reimbursement Program at $81 million so that more New Yorkers will be able work in our state, pay taxes and help our state’s economy continue to grow.
