Greetings!
I believe young people deserve safety, health, belonging and support from their communities. I’m grateful to lead the Youth Development department at YWCA, helping create spaces where young people thrive.
But today, that is not an easy reality.
It takes a village to wrap our youth in care, and we need your support. I hope you’ll join me in making a gift to support our young people, so they have access to safety, belonging and leadership.
Young people are seeing healthcare and reproductive rights come under attack while experiencing the aftereffects of fear, isolation and uncertainty in their communities. They are navigating this all while still being kids.
That’s why YWCA Minneapolis’ Contact Plus is critical.
Contact Plus is a sexual health education program serving more than 300 youth in grades 4-12. Through YWCA Minneapolis, the Contact Plus team partners with schools to provide free, accurate and inclusive sexual health education.
And this year, we’ve gone even further, thanks to supporters like you.
Our program has expanded by 150% to serve young people not only in schools, but in transitional housing and community-based shelters as well.
The best part? It’s working.
99% of our youth participants reported that they are connected to trusted adults and resources that support their goals and values.
And, across our state, teen pregnancy and STI rates have fallen for the fourth year in a row.
This is success by design, and only possible because of our generous supporters.
But we need your help to keep going.
