To all of our Unwrap Winnipeggers,
On behalf of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, I want to thank all of the businesses that have participated in #UnwrapWPG throughout this holiday season. The public feedback has been tremendous and it's been truly rewarding to shine light on these great local business stories in Winnipeg. Please watch this special

The
Top 5 List
of what you just gotta know
about #UnwrapWPG this week
1. Getting wrapped up in the #UnwrapWPG shopping spree contest
The
#UnwrapWPG shopping spree contest has been promoted to our entire membership and even further through our social media reach. The hashtag has been used more than 800 times on Twitter & Instagram since our all-member email was sent on Thursday, Dec. 10.
Here are a few examples of Winnipeg getting into the spirit of #UnwrapWPG:
2. Wrapping up the #UnwrapWPG contest
As mentioned in our last #UnwrapWPG update and also included in the contest rules, people can enter the shopping spree contest by posting with the hashtag OR by filling out a ballot in-store.
Please allow ballot submissions no later than Dec. 31, 2015. Ballot submissions will be closed as of Jan. 1, 2016.
We will need each business to send us their collected ballots (and gift cards if not yet submitted) by mail to:
Michelle picking up her RWB passes from The Chamber's office.
We called on everyone to talk about their local shopping experiences by using the hashtag
#UnwrapWPG on social media for an opportunity to enter our shopping spree contest. As an added bonus, we offered an early bird prize provided by the
Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
We awarded our early bird
#UnwrapWPG prize to Michelle (known on Twitter as @michelle373737), who won after tweeting about #UnwrapWPG before Dec. 16. Michelle will enjoy passes to a performance of the RWB's The Nutcracker being performed until Dec. 28.
We are excited to say that #UnwrapWPG was used
for the 2,000th time on Thursday, Dec. 17, topping out ACU's donation at $1,000!
ACU chose LITE as a deserving recipient of the donation drive because of the organization's mission to support inner-city initiatives in Winnipeg that build capacity and provide jobs. LITE's goals to promote economic development in Winnipeg aligns with that of ACU and the #UnwrapWPG campaign.
5. #UnwrapWPG campaign coverage
CTV Morning Live unwraps Blue Moon Furniture
CTV's Nicole Dube completed a five-week #UnwrapWPG series on CTV Morning Live with a visit to Blue Moon Furniture yesterday morning. Nicole talked to store owner Sylvia Bock about the unique products offered at Blue Moon's great Pacific Avenue store.
#UnwrapWPG saw a fairly prime placement in the
Winnipeg Free Press yesterday, taking up a full page on A4 of Monday's edition of Winnipeg's leading print news publication.
The Free Press posted the results of a poll on Monday indicating that the majority of Canadians had yet to finish their shopping, making for ideal timing to remind everyone to seek out one of our participating #UnwrapWPG businesses when looking for that last-minute gift idea!
Next steps...
1. Send us the #UnwrapWPG ballots in January: Please end #UnwrapWPG ballot submissions for the shopping spree contest on

2. Promote the contest: Continue to encourage customers to talk about their local shopping experiences by using the hashtag
