In Our Prayers

  • We pray for all who are facing cancer and other illnesses. We ask for comfort in suffering, courage in the unknown, and hope that does not fade. Be near to their families and caregivers as well--grant them patience, endurance and peace.

  • We give thanks for the Coalition for Community, a voluntary consortium of community leaders, non-profit representatives, and clergy who meet regularly to discuss matters of regional concern and cooperate on efforts to help those in need. The care being coordinated for families displaced by a recent residential fire in Mamaroneck is an example of the good work that can be accomplished when we work thoughtfully and intentionally with our neighbors.

  • Prayers continue for Betty Roodal and her recovery from recent ankle surgery. May strength and healing come quickly -- we miss her!

Easter Sunday Flower Cross

Last year, Larchmont Avenue Church started a new Easter tradition, inviting the congregation and public to add flowers and greenery to our Flower Cross on Easter Sunday.

Built of wood and wire mesh, the cross will once again be situated outside of our sanctuary near the Larchmont Avenue entrance. As Easter worshipers enter the church, all are invited to place a cut flower or greenery somewhere on the cross. So, if possible, please remember to bring a small floral offering from your household (or pick up a few flowers at a local market). [Note that a limited supply will also be provided at the foot of the cross.] As the structure gradually fills with color and life, it will grow into a beautiful and inspiring symbol of the faith, hope, and love of Easter Sunday -- a witness that stands proud and proclaims the triumph of God's goodness and grace to all who pass.

Help us share our Easter joy with our community!

Add your simple gifts to the Flower Cross.

Our Neighbors Need Our Help

In the wake of a devastating residential fire in Mamaroneck, the Community Resource Center (CRC) sprang into action to support our neighbors in crisis.

Thanks to swift coordination, compassionate case management, and the generosity of our community, one family and two individuals have been safely rehomed and are beginning to rebuild their lives.

We are still working with 2 more families to secure housing. We thank the Coalition for Community for jumping into action, and supporting these efforts.

This is what community looks like: showing up, standing together, and making sure no one faces hardship alone.
