In Our Prayers

Congratulations to Brittany Beaver and Keith Grassel who were married on May 2nd in Avalon, New Jersey!

We thank God for a safe and very successful conclusion to our 2025 Rummage Sale! Thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers, and to everyone who donated or purchased goods at the sale. Our prayers now turn to the decisions that will soon be made on grant amounts for our wonderful mission partners!

Please continue to pray for Greg Hawkins, who is recovering at home.

Lori Godwin thanks the congregation for the prayers we have offered for Becky, the niece of her friend Donna Friedel. Becky recently received a very positive report after her surgery. God is good! Lori does ask us to continue praying:

  • for Becky's father Stephen, who is scheduled for surgery to relieve his Parkinsons;
  • for the children of John Stockler, who recently lost their father to a battle with multiple myeloma; and
  • for Harry, the son of her friend Jane, who is back in the hospital.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at (914) 834-1800, ext. 342.

Youth & Confirmation Sunday

What a joyful day! We were so proud of all of our youth who, this past Sunday, orchestrated and coordinated an uplifting and moving Worship service -- the culmination of faith, dedication, and hard work.

Congratulations to our 2025 Confirmation class. We were so pleased that many of you were with us to witness this next step in their faith journeys.

We would be remiss if we did not thank the Confirmands' faith partners, the Session, and our parent volunteers who gave of themselves tirelessly.

Special thanks go to Rev. Anna Grace Claunch for her grace, patience, and care for each of our LAC youth. This day would not have been possible without her. h

Rummage Sale Success!

In one week, LAC members collected, sorted, and sold items to the community at reasonable prices. With start-up costs of under $1,000, the Rummage Sale netted nearly $15,000. There aren’t many other ways to raise that kind of money from the community with so little risk AND in fellowship with each other. The Rummage Sale is a very special LAC tradition!

Rummage Sale proceeds will support LAC mission partners like HOPE, The Sharing Shelf, Community Resource Center, and At Home on the Sound. A special thanks to this year’s dedicated team: Ann & Rob Hitchings, Dawn Moriwaki, Clark & Susan Morehouse, Barbara Flickinger, Jeff & Janet Smith, Louise Moore Williams, John & Emily Irving, Sheryl McSherry, and Laura Torrisi. And, thank you to all the volunteers who helped during the sale in various capacities.

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER: Having seen once again the amazing results of our efforts in the sale, please ask yourself if this may be a way for you to get involved in 2026. The next generation of servant leaders needs to step up! Yes, it is a fairly intensive week of work. But for just a few hours of time, you can help this wonderful tradition to continue. You can also experience the joy of being part of a team that loves to work together for an amazing cause. Please think and pray about it. You’ll hear from us in January 2026!
