In Our Prayers

We thank God for the success of Compassion Camp this past week! A wonderful group of children between the ages of 3 and 12 brought a great deal of joy and energy into our church. We are thankful for all the volunteers who decorated spaces, prepared snacks, led lessons and projects, and worked hard to keep everyone safe and happy. And special thanks to Anna Grace Claunch, who planned and coordinated with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love!

Lori Godwin requests prayers for the difficulties she is having with walking and mobility.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at

SATURDAY NIGHT CONCERT

WELCOME BACK SUNDAY & BLOCK PARTY

RESERVE YOUR SEAT TODAY FOR AN EVENING WITH CARRIE NEWCOMER

Concert & Reception

LAC SEEKERS kicks off with a very special event on 9/6 at

8 PM in our sanctuary.

An Evening with Carrie Newcomer, singer, songwriter, poet, and activist.

Hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as "asking all the right questions." Carrie has 20 nationally released albums to her credit. We're so pleased that her soulful, bluesy voice will fill our sanctuary for this very special evening!

Learn more about Carrie on our website. Reserve your seat, spread the word, and be sure to stay for the Champagne and Confections reception to follow the concert.

Your response is important in helping us prepare and communicate any changes with you regarding the event.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to LAC member Ted Utz and Vine Street Music for providing the sound and technical expertise for this concert evening.

Music Notes

From,

Douglas Kostner, Director of Music Ministry

Chancel Choir is starting with a bang this year. It’s no secret that Carrie Newcomer is joining us for worship on Sunday, September 7. Haven’t you ever wanted to join a Grammy-winning singer’s backup group? Well, that will be us.

It will be a quick preparation: I’ll send out the music beforehand, we’ll have one rehearsal on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:30 PM, then meet on Sunday at 9 AM to put it together with Carrie.

Are you in? Let me know at dkostner@lacny.org.

LAC Food Connection

Could you prepare a meal for a member of our congregation in need? The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

Fall 2025

A worthwhile and rewarding community service opportunity for the entire family. Join us to prepare food, personal items, and clothing bundles for the homeless men and women of NYC.

Join us at 4 PM in Russell Hall.
