WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY

“Support the Peace & Global Witness Offering”

Sunday, October 5th, is World Communion Sunday, a tradition that began in 1934 and was endorsed by the National Council of Churches in 1940, which promotes Christian unity and ecumenical cooperation between several Christian denominations.

On October 5th, it is appropriate that World Communion Sunday is also a time when we receive the annual Peace and Global Witness Offering as a way of continuing the ancient Christian practice of sharing what we have with sisters and brothers in need.

Shared Mission allows hope and healing as it transforms lives across our country and around the world through the ministries of the Presbyterian Church(USA). Shared Mission supports the whole mission of the church, and it allows the church to respond quickly to current issues and situations. For example, Shared Mission gifts support ministries with new immigrant communities.

25% of the offering stays with local congregations, and 25% with organizations that unite congregations to support peacemaking in their regions. The remaining 50% is remitted to the Presbyterian Mission Agency of PC (USA).

For your contributions, please use the blue mission envelope in the pews. Checks can also be marked "Peace/Global Witness" and sent to the Church Office.

OUT OF CHAOS, HOPE.

 Church and Community

In Our Prayers

  • We give thanks for our celebration of the 100th anniversary of the "Church House," the original name for the building that houses Russell Hall, Lindsley Hall, and the church offices. We give special thanks for our Fall Brunch gathering, which brought our congregation together for food and fellowship.
  • We ask God to change our hearts as a nation as gun violence and gruesome political retributions continue to take lives. Lord, help us to find the way to peace.
  • We pray for Lori Godwin, who is rehabilitating after a recent hospital stay.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at

2026 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN!

Christ is the Cornerstone.

We are the Foundation.

Last Sunday, we kicked off our 2026 Stewardship Campaign with an inspiring worship service and sermon (view here in case you missed it!). Thank you to our 2026 co-chairs, Anthony Manson and Bill Oleson, and the entire Stewardship committee

Worship was followed by a festive Family Brunch (made possible by Chris Templeman and his delicious homemade waffles, the Welcoming Committee, and the Deacons, led by Pat Allen and Liz Nabholz, who always go above and beyond. Thank you to everyone who attended!

We hope that everyone will soon be receiving the 2026 Stewardship appeal letter. We look forward to a successful pledge year and thank you for your support. We, the congregation, are the foundation of LAC!
