Reformation Sunday

October 26, 2025

This Sunday

Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum

will preach a sermon entitled

"Be Careful

Not to Forget"

 based on

Deuteronomy 6:1-15.

Join us in worship at 10 am in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • We pray for all those who are attempting to negotiate peace in places plagued by violence. May the best of human virtue rise up, and the worst subside. May we all be given eyes to see the image of God in all people.
  • We pray for healing and strength for all those who are recovering from surgery, and all who are undergoing difficult treatments. May you feel the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit.
  • We pray for all those who are grieving the loss of loved ones.
  • We pray for Lori Godwin, who is rehabilitating after a recent hospital stay.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at

Celebrating Family, Faith & Community

This past weekend, we were together as a Church family for several fellowship events. From a new Friday Night Family Game Night, to the beloved tradition of the Blessing of the Animals service, to rolling up our sleeves to participate in community service with Midnight Run!

A good time was had by all! Thank you to everyone who made these events possible and to all of you who joined us, too!

Officer Nominations for the Class of 2029

During worship, Sunday, November 2nd, the congregation of Larchmont Avenue Church will take time to remember those members and loved ones who have left this life and entered the church triumphant.

If you would like to include a loved one in this time of remembrance, please take a moment to email Betty Roodal in our church office.lacofficelacny.org. e

2026 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN!

Christ is the Cornerstone.

We are the Foundation.

Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign is off to an inspiring start! Thank you to our 2026 co-chairs, Anthony Manson and Bill Oleson, and the entire Stewardship committee. We hope that you have been enjoying the Monday Stewardship reflection and the Moment for Mission in weekly Worship. These serve to remind us all just how important a role LAC plays in our individual lives and the community. The impacts of our mission and ministry are felt in ways large and small!

Thank you for your support. We, the congregation, are the foundation of LAC!

A few announcements:

Don't forget to grab a block to personalize, decorate, and add to our "model" Church. "Blank" blocks can be found in the Forest Park foyer. Feel free to be creative in your expression of what LAC means to you -- photographs, verse, quotes, anything at all that moves you would be wonderful! Completed blocks can be returned to the same bin or the church office.

SAVE THE DATE: November 16th is DEDICATION SUNDAY. There will be a special Worship service to which all are welcome. LATER that day, from 5:30-7:30 PM, join us for a celebratory wine & cheese reception (Adults 21+)

HELP US "HANG THE GREENS" FOR CHRISTMAS

One of the blessings of Advent and Christmas is seeing our sanctuary adorned with the beauty and symbols of the season. If you are interested in helping with those decorations, please email us at lacoffice@lacny.org.

We will follow up with volunteers later with dates, times, and additional information

LAC Food Connection

Could you prepare a meal for a member of our congregation in need? The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking for themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

Fall 2025
